"Knew I had landed in a jewel as soon as I arrived. I should have stayed here without my other schedule. Definitely will return here if I come back to South Africa. Bonnie and Gareth are treasures. Sundance was exceptional, I did not want to leave. Bonnie and Gareth were so accommodating, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, it felt like home. If I were able to return regularly I should keep Sundance a well kept secret,  it was the height of my stay in South Africa. The position at Salt Rock which is by far the nicest place for a walking access to the lovely beach, despite recent hurricane damage, was truly beautiful. Sundance and it's hosts were magnificent..."

A Brief History of Ballito...

The coastal township of Ballito was formed in early 1954 when Basil Townsend, owner of the Compensation sugarcane estate granted an option of 200 acres of farmland to Doctor Rubenstein of the Glen Anil Investments development company. Ballito got its name from the cover of an Italian hosiery magazine that the doctor had found entitled Ballito Hosiery. The lure of a picture of a women's long legs in stockings must have been the deciding factor for the doctor. The word "Ballito" translated from Italian means "little ball". By 1964 the zonings for Ballito ville residential buildings, hotels and a caravan park had already been incorporated into the town plan known as Compensation Beach and this area stretched out from Willard Beach to Clark Bay, Salmon Bay and Port Zimbali. A brochure with the first marketing pictures of Ballito, was put out to attract the holiday makers to invest in the area with the slogan: "Buy, Build & Play at Ballito Bay" (Jack Nash). Today there is all sorts of accommodation including 5 star hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfasts in Ballito. Ballito accommodation and business parks have grown dramatically offering more choice to holidaymakers than ever before. Their numerous bed and breakfasts in Ballito registered with the Tourism Kwazulu Natal (TKZN) and the National Accommodation Association (NAA). You are assured of all the quality standards required by these organizations at Sundance Ballito Bed and Breakfast... the best value bed and breakfast in Ballito.
